Best kalguksu in LA. Taste has only gotten better over the years- they're super efficient with their line, ordering queue, seating, and service. The clam kalguksu is my absolute favorite dish. You can expect it to be pretty bustling on a given Thursday- thru the weekend, or holiday. Lots of families and large groups, and even social media influencers in the wild. Parking valet was $5 cash in Dec. 2024 when I went last.

I hadn't had Korean bossam in so long, so I knew I had to try Hangari Kalguksu while in SoCal since they're well known for it! We arrived around 11 AM and were seated promptly, with plenty of tables available at that time. The food came out quickly, and we ordered the medium bossam, which feeds two. It was really good, but I felt the proportions of the sauce, lettuce, and radish could have been better balanced, we ended up with more leftover meat than expected. I wish the portions were a bit more even. The ambiance was lovely, and I'd definitely like to come back to try other menu items. Overall, everything was delicious, and I had an enjoyable experience!

Great spot if you're looking for some flavorful & homey Korean food! Parking was difficult (as expected in Ktown on a Saturday evening) but there's valet parking + nearby metered street parking. There's almost always a line on weekend evenings, but it moves relatively quickly (for us it took ~20 min). We got our order taken while we were in line, so the food came out within 10 min of us getting seated which was great. Chicken Kalguksu (9.7/10) - This is my second time getting this dish, and it didn't disappoint. Chicken was tender, soup was hearty and comforting. Next time would be open to trying some of their other kalguksu flavors. Medium Bossam (10/10) - The spiced/pickled radish, garlic, and jalapeno were the perfect flavor additions to the bossam and lettuce wrap! Really satisfying, would highly recommend. Overall service was great and food was delicious! Portions are big as well and will definitely fill you up. Would definitely come back.

My friend and I shared the Plain Kalguksu and medium Hangari Bossam. The portion size is generous, the service was efficient, and the food was delicious! It was my first time eating bossam and my friend said this is the one of the best place to try it! The meat was soft, and when paired with the cabbage and kimchi radish and dipped in the sauce, it was amazing!! Parking is tough in this area but the plaza does offer valet parking for $4. It's located in a busy area of Ktown, so I think the valet parking is worth it to save yourself the headache.

My mom and I came here after her appt in LA. It was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Service was great; both the guy and the girl servers were right on it with the water, hot tea, and sides. My mom had wanted to try their new perilla (deulkkae) kalguksu and the flavor was delicious. They even added zucchini slices, mushroom slices and potatoes, which we enjoyed wirh their knife-cut noodles. I actually thought their broth was a tad thicker than the usual broth I tried elsewhere, but the flavor was on point. Their three sides of the variety of kimchi/radish were good in flavor and fresh. We enjoyed their ambiance as well. They were very busy at 11:00 am and people kept coming in to dine and having take outs. The servers were nice about replenishing our sides. It was perfect portion to share. We need to come back try out other items on the menu. Thank you Hangari Kalguksu team for the excellent service and making delicious kalguksu!!

Came here for my birthday dinner on a Saturday evening and were able to beat the crowd at 5:30pm! They have valet parking in this plaza or you can try your luck with street parking. We got seated right away. Unfortunately, they do not allow for celebrating birthdays with self-brought cake. But I was happy with this place after a last minute change to dinner plans given how cold the weather was that day. Food: Make sure to come Hungry (Not Hangry)! The portions are huge, even the medium is a very large bowl. We had 5 people in our party and got to try a variety of food. The banchans were all well-made, and I enjoyed their barley rice appetizer that you mix with some of the sauce from the banchans. - Bossam with Pork Belly and Pork Jowl: Medium was a good portion for us. I usually don't like Bossam as much because the pork belly is a little dry to me, but this one was really flavorful and paired well with the fresh Napa cabbages and pickled veggies. I personally like the jowl more, because it came with a garlic spread and had a smoky flavor to it. Extra cabbages cost extra, so double up on the meat slices! - Chicken Kalguksu: Medium portion was huge and contained a whole chicken. This is the first time trying kalguksu and I was pleasantly satisfied. The thick broth that's been stewed with chicken and kabucha pumpkins was really flavorful. I didn't really taste the anchovy in the broth, which may be a good thing for people sensitive to fish flavors. The hand cut noodles were nice and chewy, and very filling. The chicken was pretty good, although some parts of it were tough. We ended up having leftovers which made for a nice second meal. - Mil-myun: Busan style cold noodle. I originally wanted cold noodles, but changed my mind because of how cold the weather was. Still, it was nice to have this option here and it satisfied my craving. Nice and refreshing, with a tangy cold broth and served with a couple of pieces of pork. Everything was really good, and the service was fast. By the time we finished, there was a long line waiting outside. We only started feeling rushed by the servers at the end, but this meal definitely takes time to eat and savor, so it's best to come when the crowd isn't so popping!

I love this place so much, it is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. Super quality and comforting food! There is normally a wait on the weekends but on weekdays you can get seated pretty quickly. I always order kalguksu and the large bossam. The hand cut noodles are always so fresh and the both is super flavorful. I normally go for the spicy seafood but have tried the plain, the clams, and the chicken and all are super yummy. The pork belly is super tender and cooked perfectly. I don't normally eat pork but here is an exception because it is so clean. Service is friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit of a drag since it's $4 valet or you pay for the street parking and have to walk but its worth it to come here.

Food was great. We had the cold cut pork belly with the pickled cabbage and the seafood kalguksu. Three different kimchi sides including radish, cabbage, and some stemmier leaf kimchi. The kalguksu was what I came for and it did not disappoint on the cold day we went. Parking here is $4 so bring cash! **was here around 10pm and there was a little scuffle outside with patrons of another restaurant looking buzzed. A little uncomfortable but they left pretty quick.

If you're like me and coming to Hangari Kalguksu for the first time, upon seeing the long line snaking outside the restaurant, you may question whether it's worth the wait. However, I'm here to tell you: one taste of the food and you'll never wonder again--it's just that good. We ordered the Spicy Seafood Kalguksu, which came chock full of clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. The broth definitely packed more of a punch than I had anticipated but was very tasty and stood up well to the thick, chewy knife-cut noodles. It definitely was a hearty, generous portion that was perfect for sharing among two people. We also split a medium bossam which came with boiled pork belly, crunchy Napa cabbage leaves and sweet and spicy radish kimchi. There's just something about that combination together that's so comforting and delicious. I only wish it came with more cabbage leaves that were cut smaller. Although this is a popular restaurant, service is prompt and attentive and the staff is good at turning over tables quickly to get prospective diners seated. We waited around 30 minutes which was faster than anticipated. While I typically don't visit K-town for kalguksu and bossam, this is a restaurant that is certainly worth another visit in the future!
